2 month wellness check-up

Well, our little girl is growing good! She had her 2 month wellness check-up today, and the doctor was very pleased with her growth! Raelynn is now weighing 11 pounds 11 ounces, 23.5 inches long, and has a 16 inch head! Her weight is in the 45 percentile, length in the 65 percentile, and now I am trying to get her to feed more than she has to get her caught up. She's been eating 6 ounces every 6 hours or so, and I need to try to feed her roughly every 4 hours to squish in 1-2 more feedings a day. Doctor went through the standard 2-3 months checklist, and she proudly checked everything(holding her head up, putting her hand in her mouth, cooing, following faces, smiling/laughing, etc)! I asked about Raelynn's red spot on the back of her head, and was assured that it was a harmless hermangioma, and it should go away on it's own between 9 months and 5 years of age. I brought up her congestion, and was told infants usually get small colds, and unless she can't breathe at all or gets a fever, she should be fine; her lungs sound perfect. Raelynn also had to get her 2 month immunizations today(polio, rotavirus, hepatitis B, hib, etc). Considering she did so well on her second PKU prick in the foot test, I thought she'd tough it out and it'd be like nothing. So when the nurse said "okay, momma. Show her some love.", I stuck my tongue out at her, got her to laugh, and then...

She was hysterical. Her face looked like a strawberry-red raisin with a pouty lip. Her face was clenched so tight, her cheeks turned WHITE! Like when you clench your fist and your knuckles turn white... there was a small white patch under both her eyes.

MY POOR BABY!!! I have never felt so helpless in my LIFE! Luckily, she fell asleep on the way home, I would have have to pull over, her cry was sooo horrible to hear. Throughout the day, she has been the happiest little booger, except when she was taking a nap, she cried in her sleep :( She was running a 99.5 degree temp, which was under her arm, so we rounded it to 100.5. She's doing so good, though. Gave her some tylenol with her bottle & now she's sound asleep.

Baby girl will be 12 weeks tomorrow! Boy, does time fly!
